'Make Way for Animals' - Read and Rise April 2025
I thought Make Way for Animals was an interesting book for Earth Day. We hear a lot about protecting endangered animals - and believe me, it's still vitally important for us to continue doing so - but this book introduced a different topic: creating safe ways for animals to cross roadways.

Animals needs to travel for many reasons - in search of food and water, to travel to nesting grounds, to migrate, to find a mate...but humans have made it much more difficult by building roads right in the middle of all these travel routes! Make Way for Animals shows the varied ways people across the globe have worked together to make safe pathways for these animals to travel, including bridges, underpasses, and tunnels! We need more creative thinking like this to help us live in better harmony with the world around us.
